Horn Academy Somalia is a locally owned multi-disciplinary service Think tank platform based in Somalia that works with the international, local, and in line stakeholders, to identify community problems, design and implement projects that have far reaching socio-economic positive impacts within Somalia. Horn Academy Somalia has operational head offices in Somalia Garoowe with Sub-offices in Galkayo and Mogadishu.
We are passionate about learning from our direct interventions or through operations research to inform what we do and how we work. Through creative partnerships, we conduct stand-alone research; undertake modeling and operations research, document learning and take advantage of local, national, and global platforms to disseminate our learning around social development, Peace, security, reconciliations, inclusive governance and democratization and Gender and women’s role.
Horn Academy recognizes the diverse roots of conflict, particularly resource-based disputes among rural pastoralists over land, water, and pasture. These conflicts threaten stability and development in Somalia. Through research, training, and field support, the Academy analyzes conflict dynamics and promotes peacebuilding and reconciliation to enhance security and cohesion in affected areas.
Horn Academy-Somalia believes that in our society, Women are an integral part of communities and they are the foundation of society, therefore investing in them to accelerate progress is vital, women play an important role from birth till death.
